Noise and Hearing Loss in Construction
For construction workers: know the OSHA permissible noise limits, how mixed noise levels add up over a shift, what must happen when noise is too loud, and how to use hearing protection that actually works.
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926.52 and 1926.101. It is not an OSHA card or license. Neither 29 CFR 1926.52 nor 29 CFR 1926.101 has a training paragraph of its own, so there is no training requirement in these sections for this course to meet. Your employer must still administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program in all cases where sound levels exceed Table D-2 (1926.52(d)(1)), and make sure that ear protective devices inserted in the ear are fitted or determined individually by competent persons (1926.101(b)).
