Beryllium in Construction (Abrasive Blasting)
Lección 1

For construction workers and supervisors exposed to beryllium, such as in abrasive blasting: sensitization and chronic beryllium disease, the PEL, STEL and action level, exposure assessment, the competent person and written exposure control plan, respirators, protective clothing, housekeeping, medical surveillance, medical removal and training.

What this certificate covers

This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1124. It is not an OSHA card or license, it does not make anyone a competent person under 29 CFR 1926.1124(e), and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1926.1124(m)(2). Your employer must still provide information and training in accordance with the HCS (29 CFR 1910.1200(h)), provide initial training to each employee by the time of initial assignment and repeat the training annually, and ensure that each employee who is, or can reasonably be expected to be, exposed to airborne beryllium can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of every topic in 29 CFR 1926.1124(m)(2)(ii), including the employer's own written exposure control plan. Where respirators are required, their selection and use must follow 29 CFR 1910.134.
