What this certificate covers
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926.500, 1926.501, 1926.502 and 1926.503 and the competent person definition in 1926.32(f). It is not an OSHA card or license, completing it does not by itself make anyone a competent person, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1926.503. Your employer must still provide a training program that enables each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards to recognize the hazards of falling and trains them in the procedures to minimize those hazards, assure each employee has been trained, as necessary, by a competent person qualified in the areas listed in 1926.503(a)(2), keep a written certification record of that training, and retrain when 1926.503(c) requires it. Your employer also decides who has the authorization to take prompt corrective measures as a competent person on its sites.
