Respirable Crystalline Silica for General Industry Workers
Lección 1

For general industry workers exposed to silica dust: know the health hazards and the exposure limits, respect regulated areas, use the dust controls and clean-up methods the rule requires, wear your respirator when required, and use your rights to exposure results and free medical exams.

What this certificate covers

This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1053. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1053(j). Your employer must still include respirable crystalline silica in its hazard communication program, give you access to labels and safety data sheets and train you under the hazard communication standard, and ensure you can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the health hazards of silica, the specific tasks in your workplace that could expose you, the specific engineering controls, work practices and respirators your employer has put in place, the contents of 29 CFR 1910.1053, and the purpose and a description of the medical surveillance program. Your employer must also make a copy of 29 CFR 1910.1053 readily available to you without cost.
