Hearing Conservation for Noise-Exposed Workers
For general industry workers exposed to noise at or above the action level: what puts you in a hearing conservation program, how to choose, fit and wear hearing protectors, and what your hearing tests mean.
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.95(k). If you are exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels, your employer must still train you, repeat that training annually, and inform you of the effects of noise on hearing; the purpose of hearing protectors, the advantages, disadvantages and attenuation of various types, and instructions on selection, fitting, use and care; and the purpose of audiometric testing and an explanation of the test procedures.
