1926.452(c): Frame Scaffold Rules

By Black Belt Safety Editorial Team Official text as of octubre 15, 2026 Data updated octubre 20, 2026 4 min read

In plain words:

When using fabricated frame (tubular welded frame) scaffolds, employers must keep the existing platform in place until new end frames are set and braced, brace frames so they stay plumb, level and square, secure all brace connections, and pin frames together vertically. Brackets for cantilevered loads must be seated correctly, not bent, and used only for personnel unless designed otherwise. Scaffolds over 125 feet above their base plates must be designed by a registered professional engineer.
