Process Safety Management Awareness
Awareness for operators, maintenance workers, contractors and their supervisors at facilities with a covered process: know what PSM covers, work from the operating procedures, respect hot work and change controls, and know your part in incidents and emergencies.
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.119(g), (h)(3) and (j)(3). Your employer must still train each employee involved in operating a process in an overview of the process and in its operating procedures, before the employee operates a newly assigned process; provide refresher training at least every three years, and more often if necessary; ascertain that each employee has received and understood the training and keep a record of it; and train each employee involved in maintaining the on-going integrity of process equipment in an overview of that process and its hazards and in the procedures applicable to their job tasks. A contract employer must assure that each contract employee is trained in the work practices necessary to safely perform the job and instructed in the known potential fire, explosion, or toxic release hazards and the applicable provisions of the emergency action plan, and must document that training.
