Trabajos con aire comprimido en túneles y cajones
Lección 1

Learn the medical, compression, decompression, fire and emergency rules that protect you when you work in compressed air in a tunnel or caisson.

What this certificate covers

This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926.803(a)(2), (b)(1), (b)(2), (b)(3), (b)(4), (b)(9), (b)(10)(iii), (b)(11), (c)(1), (d)(1), (d)(3), (e), (f)(1), (g)(1)(i), (g)(1)(ii), (g)(1)(iv), (g)(1)(v), (g)(1)(xii), (g)(1)(xvi), (i)(2), (l)(2), (l)(7) and (l)(8). It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not by itself meet the requirement of 29 CFR 1926.803(a)(2) that every employee be instructed in the rules and regulations which concern his safety or the safety of others. Your employer must still see that you are instructed in those rules, and, under 29 CFR 1926.803(e)(1), that you are instructed on how to avoid excessive discomfort the first time you go under air pressure. The competent person your employer designates is responsible for full compliance with the rule.

What you will learn

  • Say when you must be examined by the physician and what your badge is for
  • Go under air pressure the right way and speak up about discomfort
  • Explain why you decompress before you reach normal air, and who runs the lock
  • Spot the fire and air quality rules that protect you in the working chamber
  • Know how the medical lock, communication and rescue provisions back you up

What you get

  • About 20 minutes, on your phone or computer, read out loud as you go
  • Real photos, not cartoons
  • A hands-on drill: you make the calls, step by step, and see what happens
  • 5 quick checks along the way, then a final quiz
  • A certificate with a QR code your employer can check online
  • A wallet card you can print and carry
