Spray Finishing with Flammable and Combustible Materials
Lección 1

For spray painters, powder coaters and supervisors: spray booth basics, keeping ignition sources away, ventilation, filters and residue disposal, hoses and grounding, cleaning solvents, no-smoking rules, and electrostatic and powder coating safety.

What this certificate covers

This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1910.107. It is not an OSHA card or license. 29 CFR 1910.107 has no training requirement of its own. Your employer must still keep spraying within predetermined spraying areas, maintain the spray booths, ventilation, electrical equipment, grounding and residue disposal as 1910.107 requires, and post “No smoking” signs at all spraying areas and paint storage rooms. Training that other OSHA standards require for your job, such as respiratory protection or hazard communication, is separate.

What you will learn

  • Keep ignition sources out of and away from spraying areas
  • Run ventilation correctly during and after spraying
  • Handle filters, residue, rags and cleaning solvents safely
  • Ground containers and equipment, and inspect hoses
  • Apply electrostatic and powder coating rules

What you get

  • About 25 minutes, on your phone or computer, read out loud as you go
  • Real photos, not cartoons
  • A hands-on drill: you make the calls, step by step, and see what happens
  • 3 quick checks along the way, then a final quiz
  • A certificate with a QR code your employer can check online
  • A wallet card you can print and carry
  • A printable study guide (PDF)
