1910.134(g): Proper Use of Respirators

By Black Belt Safety Editorial Team Official text as of octubre 15, 2026 Data updated octubre 20, 2026 6 min read

In plain words:

Employers must not let workers with facial hair or other conditions that break the seal wear tight-fitting respirators, and must make sure glasses or other PPE do not interfere with the seal. Workers must do a user seal check each time they put one on, leave the area to wash, change filters or when they detect leakage, and employers must set procedures for IDLH atmospheres.
