1926.1101(g)(8)(iii): Removing Asbestos Siding, Shingles and Panels

By Black Belt Safety Editorial Team Official text as of octubre 15, 2026 Data updated octubre 20, 2026 3 min read

In plain words:

When workers remove cementitious asbestos siding, shingles or transite panels from building exteriors (not roofs), employers must make sure the panels are sprayed with amended water first and are not cut, abraded or broken unless less risky methods cannot be used. Loose pieces must be lowered by covered chute, crane or hoist, or bagged or wrapped and lowered by the end of the shift, and nails must be cut with flat, sharp tools.
