Respiratory Protection for Respirator Wearers
For workers who are required to wear a respirator: what must happen before you wear one, how to check the seal every time, when to leave the area, and how to inspect, clean and store your respirator.
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134. It is not an OSHA card or license, it does not replace the medical evaluation and fit test required before you use a respirator, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.134(k). Your employer must still provide effective training before requiring you to use a respirator, ensure you can demonstrate knowledge of each item listed in 1910.134(k)(1), and retrain you annually and in the situations listed in 1910.134(k)(5).
