Struck-By Hazards: Vehicles and Equipment for Construction Workers
For construction workers who work on foot around vehicles and earthmoving equipment, act as spotters, or drive site vehicles: backing rules, power-line clearance, raised and parked equipment, and riding and pre-shift checks.
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926.201, 1926.600, 1926.601 and 1926.602. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not qualify anyone to operate equipment or to serve as a flagger. These sections have no training paragraph for workers on foot, and this certificate does not by itself meet the general training requirement of 29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2). Your employer must still instruct you in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to your work environment to control or eliminate any hazards. Forklift operators need the separate operator training in 1926.602(d), and flagging must conform to Part 6 of the MUTCD under 1926.201(a).
