Learn who counts as a DOT hazmat employee, which shipping jobs are regulated, the key words of the Hazardous Materials Regulations, and the training, timing and records your employer must have in place.
What this certificate covers
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on DOT 49 CFR 172.704 and 171.8. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 49 CFR 172.704. Your hazmat employer must still provide the function-specific, safety and security awareness training required by 172.704(a), and in-depth security training if you are covered by a security plan; keep a record of your current training that includes certification that you have been trained and tested; and repeat the training at least once every three years.
