Emergency Action Plans in Construction
Lección 1

Learn what an emergency action plan must include, how alarms and evacuation work, and when your employer must train you and review the plan with you.

What this certificate covers

This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926.35. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1926.35(e). Your employer must still designate and train a sufficient number of persons to assist in the safe and orderly emergency evacuation of employees before implementing the emergency action plan, review the plan with each employee covered by it initially when the plan is developed, whenever the employee's responsibilities or designated actions under the plan change, and whenever the plan is changed, and review with each employee upon initial assignment those parts of the plan which the employee must know to protect the employee in the event of an emergency.

What you will learn

  • Say what an emergency action plan is and where you can read it
  • Name the six elements the plan must include
  • Explain the alarm and evacuation rules for your employer
  • Explain who must be trained and when the plan must be reviewed with you
  • Act on the plan in a jobsite emergency

What you get

  • About 12 minutes, on your phone or computer, read out loud as you go
  • Real photos, not cartoons
  • A hands-on drill: you make the calls, step by step, and see what happens
  • 3 quick checks along the way, then a final quiz
  • A certificate with a QR code your employer can check online
  • A wallet card you can print and carry
