For workers who store, pour, dispense and use flammable liquids such as gasoline and solvents: recognize a flammable liquid, use the right container, store it within the limits, transfer it without a spark, and fuel equipment safely.
What this certificate covers
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926.152 and 1910.106. It is not an OSHA card or license. Neither 1926.152 nor 1910.106 has a training requirement of its own. In construction, 29 CFR 1926.21(b)(5) requires that employees required to handle or use flammable liquids be instructed in the safe handling and use of these materials and made aware of the specific requirements contained in subparts D, F, and other applicable subparts of Part 1926, and 1926.21(b)(2) requires the employer to instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions. In general industry and construction alike, your employer must also train you on the hazardous chemicals in your work area under the Hazard Communication standard (29 CFR 1910.1200(h); 1926.59 in construction).
