For operators and mechanics of scrapers, loaders, dozers, graders, crawler tractors, compactors, skid steers and tractors used in construction: which machines need ROPS, how ROPS are labeled and remounted, and overhead protection on tractors.
What this certificate covers
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1000, 1926.1002 and 1926.1003. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it is not equipment operator certification. These sections (Subpart W of Part 1926) have no training requirement. The employer's duty under them is to make sure each covered machine is equipped with rollover protective structures that meet the minimum performance standards for its manufacture date, that any overhead protection provided on agricultural and industrial tractors meets its performance standard, that each ROPS carries the required permanent label, and that a ROPS removed for any reason is remounted with equal quality, or better, bolts or welding as required for the original mounting.
