Federal Agency Safety Programs (29 CFR 1960)

1 Lesson

How a federal agency safety program works under 29 CFR 1960: who is responsible, which standard applies, agency inspections and notices, employee hazard reports and their deadlines, accident investigation, abatement plans and federal injury records, matched to the duties in real USAJOBS safety announcements. Interactive lessons, knowledge checks, a branching scenario and a final quiz.

This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1960.1, 1960.6, 1960.8, 1960.9, 1960.10, 1960.16, 1960.17, 1960.19, 1960.25, 1960.26, 1960.27, 1960.28, 1960.29, 1960.30, 1960.46, 1960.55, 1960.56, 1960.58, 1960.59, 1960.66, 1960.67, 1960.70, 1960.72 and 1960.73. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1960.56 or 1960.57. Your agency must still provide occupational safety and health training for safety and health specialists through courses, laboratory experiences, field study, and other formal learning experiences, and must provide safety and health inspectors with training on the appropriate standards and the use of appropriate equipment and testing procedures necessary to identify and evaluate hazards and suggest general abatement procedures, as well as preparation of reports and other documentation to support inspection findings. It is not a federal hiring qualification.
