For workers in smelting, glass, pigment, semiconductor, chemical and other operations with inorganic arsenic: health effects, the PEL and action level, monitoring, regulated areas, controls, respirators and protective clothing, hygiene, housekeeping, medical surveillance, signs and training.
This certificate records completion of awareness training based on OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1018. It is not an OSHA card or license, and it does not by itself meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1018(o). Your employer must still train each employee who is subject to exposure to inorganic arsenic above the action level without regard to respirator use, or for whom there is the possibility of skin or eye irritation from inorganic arsenic, at the time of initial assignment and at least annually thereafter, and inform each employee of the information in Appendix A; the quantity, location, manner of use, storage, sources of exposure, and the specific nature of operations which could result in exposure to inorganic arsenic as well as any necessary protective steps; the purpose, proper use, and limitation of respirators; the purpose and a description of the medical surveillance program; the engineering controls and work practices associated with the employee's job assignment; and a review of the standard. Under 29 CFR 1910.1018(p)(1)(iii), the employer must also train employees in accordance with the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200).
